Naver's streaming platform Chzzk has achieved a record high in monthly active users, boosted by broadcasts of the 2026 International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) North America World Cup.

Wiseapp.Retail, an application and payment data analytics company, said on July 7 that Chzzk's app had 5.24 million monthly users in June. That was an increase of 2.48 million from May's 2.76 million and the highest figure since the service launched. The surge is seen as the result of an influx of sports fans as it streamed World Cup matches live after the tournament opened on June 12.

By age group, users in their 40s rose by 780,000 from the previous month, showing the strongest inflow. They were followed by users in their 20s (640,000), 30s (480,000), age 10 and under (250,000), 50s (250,000) and 60 and over (90,000), with increases across all age groups.

Over the same period, monthly users of other broadcasters' apps that offered World Cup coverage also increased. In June, KBS+ and JTBC NOW had 500,000 and 230,000 monthly users, respectively, up 180,000 and 170,000 from the previous month.

The survey was calculated based on results from a sample survey conducted by Wiseapp.Retail of domestic Android and iOS smartphone users.
