Unnet holds AI strategy seminar based on Tarantula Lakehouse, unveils vector DB
Unnet held a seminar in Seoul on March 19 on its Tarantula AI data platform strategy and introduced a financial-sector case for building a Tarantula Lakehouse. The event mainly covered Nextrade, a financial data company based on Korea’s first alternative trading system. Nextrade processes average daily trading of about 15 trillion won, with volume reaching 59 trillion won at times, generating about 120 GB of data a day and 30 to 40 TB annually. Unnet also unveiled its Tarantula AI vector database.

Shinhan Investment signs MOU with NXT and seven fractional investment firms
Shinhan Investment & Securities said on Wednesday it signed an MOU with Nextrade and seven fractional investment firms as the Nextrade (NXT) consortium secured preliminary approval for an over-the-counter fractional investment exchange. The agreement aims to build a value chain covering issuance, distribution and settlement for a planned distribution market. The nine participating companies also plan joint reviews of business models, responses to legal and institutional changes, and joint promotion.

Nextrade adjusts trading-eligible stocks to 650 to handle surge in volume
Nextrade said on Feb. 9 it will adjust the number of securities eligible for trading execution to 650 starting Feb. 12 to respond to a surge in trading volume amid a market rally. It said combined average daily trading volume at the Korea Exchange and Nextrade rose about 41 percent from 1.675 billion shares in early January to 2.362 billion shares in late January. The top 50 most-traded stocks will be excluded through end-June.
