Voltpost expands charging network using utility poles and streetlights

U.S. electric vehicle charging startup Voltpost has installed seven new Level 2 chargers with 14 charging ports in New York state, expanding an urban charging network by using existing street infrastructure such as streetlights and utility poles. The company set up chargers in Albany, Saratoga Springs and Cold Spring Village. In Brooklyn, it will offer free charging during Climate Week. Voltpost is also pursuing projects in California and Connecticut.

Bitcoin wallet dormant for 14 years and 9 months moves, up 2,486,052 percent

A bitcoin wallet holding 100 bitcoin that had been inactive for 14 years and 9 months has moved funds, with the holdings up about 2,486,052 percent from when first received in November 2011. Galaxy Research classified the address as “Noah Doe #3113,” a label linked to a New York lawsuit seeking ownership confirmation for more than 3.7 million bitcoin tied to 39,069 addresses. The owner’s intent behind the move remains unconfirmed.

CoinEx to close after 9 years amid tougher rules and weak trading

Cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx will shut down after nine years, halting new sign-ups and planning to end most services on Sept. 29. Withdrawals will be supported until Dec. 22, and assets left on the platform after Sept. 29 can be converted to tether. Unclaimed tether will be transferred to an independent custodian that charges a 5 percent monthly fee. Founder and CEO Yang Haipo cited market weakness, tighter regulation and rising compliance costs.
