Woori Bank launches \'Next ESG\' strategy, confirms 50 key tasks

Woori Bank is putting its ESG management strategy into operation with a full execution framework. The bank set four strategic directions to expand ESG finance and confirmed 50 key tasks under the name \'NEXT 50\'. It also established a new ESG strategy, \'Next ESG\', aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and fulfilling social responsibility. The plan includes emissions cuts, recycling expansion, support for eco-friendly firms and better access for vulnerable groups.

MOTIE seeks applicants for 80 billion won carbon-neutral transition loans

The government will provide 80 billion won in loans to companies investing in greenhouse gas reduction. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said on Monday it is recruiting firms for its carbon-neutral transition leading project loan programme. Selected companies can receive up to 50 billion won per project at 1.3 percent interest, with up to 10 billion won for research and development. Applications run from Feb. 25 to April 10.

LGE aims to double emerging market sales by 2030 through localisation

LG Electronics said on Saturday it aims to double sales in emerging markets by 2030, focusing on regions such as India, Saudi Arabia and Brazil. It said combined sales in the three countries reached 6.2 trillion won last year, up more than 20 percent from 2023. The company plans a new production facility in Brazil and is expanding localised product lines in India. It is also continuing long-running cooperation in Saudi Arabia.
