SK Square said on Monday it received the top “Leadership A” grade in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) 2025 climate change response assessment.
CDP evaluates major listed companies’ strategies for responding to climate change and efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, and announces the results each year. Its grades are divided into Leadership (A/A-), Management (B/B-), Awareness (C/C-) and Disclosure (D/D-).
SK Square’s Leadership A grade is the highest rating, awarded only to companies within the top 4 percent of understand about 22,000 participating companies. It rose two levels from its previous B grade.
SK Square received favourable reviews for strengthening environmental management capabilities centred on its board ESG committee and, as a holding company, systematically calculating and disclosing Scope 3 emissions and completing external verification. It also received high marks for linking an internal carbon pricing system to management decision-making and overhauling its mid- to long-term Net Zero roadmap with a focus on realism and execution.
SK Square received an upgraded AA rating in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG assessment in October last year. As it received top-tier ratings in succession from global ESG assessment agencies, SK Square’s ESG management led to results. SK Square said it will continue to push initiatives to upgrade its company-wide environmental performance management system, build a board-led responsible management system and establish a transparent and accountable corporate operating system.
SK Square CEO Jeong-gyu Kim (김정규) said, “We will become a company trusted in the global market through responsible ESG management and transparent disclosure.”
