Dassault Systemes, a global manufacturing software company, said on Aug. 11 it has established a new “2050 net-zero science-based greenhouse gas reduction target” validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The target is based on the company’s achievement of its previously set 2027 SBTi reduction goal ahead of schedule.

Dassault Systemes plans to achieve net zero by 2050 by bringing net greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain to zero. As a short-term goal, it aims to cut absolute Scope 1 emissions from direct operations and Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity by 65.0 percent by 2035 from a 2024 base year. Over the same period, it also plans to cut Scope 3 emissions and emissions from the use of sold products beyond the minimum boundary set by SBTi by 66.33 percent per 1 euro of value added, respectively.

The net-zero target was set based on the company’s science-based greenhouse gas reduction results pursued across its operations and value chain, the company said.
