KT conducts emergency restoration drills using SFC during wildfire caution period
KT said on April 15 it will hold emergency restoration drills to prepare for the spring wildfire caution period. The drills aim to keep networks operating stably even if disasters such as wildfires or fires at telecommunications facilities occur. KT will use its Smart Field Check (SFC) platform to centrally manage restoration status across KT, affiliates and partner firms. It is also upgrading its SuperCell technology and will strengthen disaster response via SFC.

Chinese firms including Huawei, Xiaomi and Honor drew attention with large booths and new products, while major carriers launched a mobile AI initiative with GSMA. The event also expanded debate on 6G, AI network operations, smart glasses and non-terrestrial networks.

Qualcomm unveils AI-enabled Snapdragon Wear Elite, Samsung and Google adoption possible
Qualcomm has unveiled Snapdragon Wear Elite, a next-generation wearable processor aimed at boosting on-device AI and power efficiency. Built on a 3-nanometre process, it brings the Elite brand to wearables for the first time and supports Android, Wear OS and Linux. The chip combines low-power AI and a Hexagon NPU that supports large language models. Qualcomm said battery life and connectivity options can improve. Google, Samsung and Motorola may adopt it.
