E-Mart posts 43 billion won operating loss in Q2, swings to deficit

E-Mart said on Aug. 13 it posted a consolidated operating loss of 43 billion won in the second quarter, swinging to a deficit as weakness at subsidiaries such as SCK Company weighed on profitability. Consolidated net sales fell 1.8 percent to 6.915 trillion won. On a standalone basis, E-Mart reported operating profit of 25.6 billion won. It cited growth at renewed stores and double-digit gains at Traders.

Shopify says AI search traffic tripled as traditional search also grows

Shopify said it posted second-quarter results that beat market expectations, helped by a rise in traffic from AI search. The company said AI search did not replace traditional search but complemented it, contributing to higher traffic and more orders for merchants. Shopify said AI-based referrals and orders tripled from a year earlier, while traditional search sessions rose 1.3 times over two years. Revenue rose to $3.6 billion.

Cafe24 launches e-commerce integration service with Japan\'s NE

Cafe24 said on Tuesday it signed a business partnership agreement with Japanese e-commerce solution company NE Co. Ltd. to strengthen its push into Japan. The companies will link Cafe24\'s premium service Cafe24 PRO with NE\'s SaaS e-commerce backend system NEXT ENGINE and launch the service in August. The integration will allow Japanese e-commerce operators to handle global storefront setup and order and inventory management in one environment.
