Apple\'s \'iPhone Duo\': five checkpoints before buying

Apple\'s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, goes on sale in South Korea the next day. It is the most expensive iPhone, but some specifications, including the camera, are assessed as below those of the iPhone 18 Pro. Engadget highlighted checks before purchase, including camera features, biometric authentication, app optimisation and accessory compatibility. The iPhone Duo uses Touch ID and lacks a telephoto camera and some buttons.

Whistle starts parking enforcement alerts in Donghae city, including out-of-town drivers

Mobility platform Whistle said on Tuesday it has teamed up with Donghae city in Gangwon province to provide an integrated service that alerts drivers in advance about parking enforcement. Residents and visitors can receive notifications by registering their vehicle information in the Whistle app. Alerts are sent via app push notifications and KakaoTalk alerts when vehicles are captured by fixed or mobile CCTV in enforcement zones. The service is available without separate applications.

Toss miniapps shift from expansion drive to visibility competition

Toss is shifting its miniapp ecosystem from expanding listings to competing for visibility, aiming to give more exposure to miniapps with stronger user experience and performance. From Oct. 22, App in Toss will classify miniapps into launch, recommended and boosting tiers, applying the same standards to new and existing services. Toss will also tighten operating rules, review non-game miniapps for compliance and end ad push notifications from Oct. 1.
