Science, ICT and interior ministries to push disaster safety network smartwatch development

South Korea will develop a smartwatch dedicated to the disaster safety communications network to reduce the equipment burden on responders and deliver key information quickly, the government said. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety selected the project as a new task under an emergency response research programme and will solicit research organisations. The smartwatch will link to the network and use AI to analyse and summarise communications and send alerts. It will also monitor vital signs and location.

Samsung SDS AI collaboration tool Brity Works adopted by nine central government ministries

Samsung SDS said on Aug. 13 that nine central government ministries, including the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Financial Services Commission and the Overseas Koreans Agency, will adopt its AI collaboration solution Brity Works. The ministries are set to start the service sequentially by August. Samsung SDS provides Brity Works as the official collaboration tool for the government’s OnAI platform.

Naver Cloud to expand Naver Works AI features with search and agents

Naver Cloud said it will hold a public-sector AI transformation strategy seminar on Aug. 13 in Seoul and unveil three new Naver Works features. The additions include Naver AI Search within government administrative networks, the Page document collaboration and knowledge management service, and the EASY solution for building AI agents. Naver AI Search will be provided this month, while EASY is targeted for official launch in the first half of next year.
