Non-x86 server revenue surges 107 percent in a year, x86 share falls to around half
Server revenue using AMD and Intel x86 chips has fallen to just over half of total server sales, The Register reported on June 16, citing IDC. IDC data for the first quarter of 2026 showed non-x86 server revenue jumped 107 percent from a year earlier to $58.7 billion, accounting for 47.9 percent of the market. Total server revenue rose 30.4 percent to $122.6 billion, while x86 revenue slipped 2.9 percent to $63.9 billion.

Apple to equip all iPhone 18 models with 12GB RAM
Apple is expected to install 12GB of RAM across the entire iPhone 18 lineup, enabling full support for on-device Siri AI features even on base models. On-device Siri AI is currently limited to certain higher-end iPhone 17 models, fuelling debate over product tiering. A KB Securities investment report said Apple plans to make 12GB memory standard on iPhone 18 models, which could reduce gaps in AI feature access. Pricing is expected to remain similar, with a base model possibly staying near $799.

IITP to boost full-stack linking AI semiconductors and physical AI to respond to AX 2.0
South Korea\'s Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) is strengthening full-stack competitiveness by linking AI semiconductors, physical AI and next-generation networks, it said. It aims to respond to the spread of agentic AI and physical AI in industrial sites in the AX 2.0 era. IITP outlined R&D and talent development plans, including support for AI semiconductor firms, 6G and satellite communications, cybersecurity initiatives, defence AX programmes and expanded AI training.
