Non-x86 server revenue surges 107 percent in a year, x86 share falls to around half

Server revenue using AMD and Intel x86 chips has fallen to just over half of total server sales, The Register reported on June 16, citing IDC. IDC data for the first quarter of 2026 showed non-x86 server revenue jumped 107 percent from a year earlier to $58.7 billion, accounting for 47.9 percent of the market. Total server revenue rose 30.4 percent to $122.6 billion, while x86 revenue slipped 2.9 percent to $63.9 billion.
