Anthropic has integrated Claude's chat and Claude Cowork screens into a single interface, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday. It is aimed at reducing confusion over which tab to use for different tasks.

The new interface lets users use chat, Claude Cowork and Artifacts in one window. Claude Design, unveiled in April for website and prototype design, can now be used across Claude.

The revamp means users no longer need to switch tabs or windows. Claude automatically connects to the appropriate function based on the request. Anthropic explained that customers previously had difficulty choosing the right tab for the task.

Anthropic also added presentation and document-writing features. Users can ask Claude to create and edit slides and help prepare for presentations, and can download completed presentations as PDFs or PowerPoint files.

The document feature supports creating sections with Claude, asking questions, or leaving comments on completed parts. Generated documents and slides can be shared via links, and can be edited on smartphones. It also supports checking progress in the mobile app after starting document writing on a desktop.

The new features will roll out over the next few weeks, first to web, desktop and mobile Pro and Max plans. They will later expand to Free and Team plans.

The update follows an upgrade to Claude Cowork's memory layer. The feature helps Claude remember user context across multiple conversations.
