Apple is moving to expand market share with aggressive pricing even as global device makers are hit by higher memory prices due to supply shortages. The company unveiled the entry-level iPhone 17e and MacBook Neo, both starting at $599, the Wall Street Journal reported. Analysts said the strategy could pressure rivals to raise prices and encourage switching. Apple has raised prices on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.

Apple has discontinued seven existing products as it rolled out six new models this week, NineToFiveMac reported on Monday. The discontinued lineup includes iPhone, MacBook, iPad Air and display models, most of which are being replaced by successor versions. An exception is the 512GB M5 MacBook Pro, which Apple removed from the lineup a month after launch, leaving buyers to choose 1TB or higher configurations.
