Apple Silicon MacBooks with M1 chips or later are presented as the safest choice in the 2026 used MacBook market, with macOS support seen as the key factor in value. macOS 27 Golden Gate does not support Intel Macs, while Apple Silicon MacBook Air and Pro models from 2020 onward are included on the compatibility list. Buyers are advised to check model identifiers, macOS compatibility, battery cycles and hardware condition, and to prefer newer generations over the cheapest option.
