UK most exposed in Europe to state-backed, geopolitical cyber threats

Britain was the European country most exposed to state-backed and geopolitical cyber threats, with 76 such activities observed over the past year, a report cited by TechRadar showed. Microsoft said AI is lowering barriers for attackers and compressing attack cycles, cutting some steps from days to seconds. The share of incidents where phishing was the initial entry route rose to 23% from 7%, and voice phishing jumped 502%. Ransomware detections also increased in the United States, Britain and Germany.

South Korea is seeing an electric-vehicle buying slump as paths to receive subsidies for new purchases are effectively closing. Many local cities and counties have already stopped accepting applications, and major areas including Seoul and Gyeonggi are nearing exhaustion of 2026 budgets. Some import-car dealerships are steering new customers toward deliveries in the first half of next year, making subsidy receipt uncertain. Automakers are shifting shipments toward hybrids, while battery makers seek more North American grid ESS orders.

Nuriho fifth launch D-10, first satellite cluster mission challenge

South Korea’s Nuriho rocket is 10 days from its fifth flight, scheduled for Oct. 7 from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province. The mission will carry a record 15 satellites, including five NEONSAT microsatellites and 10 CubeSats. It will be Nuriho’s first cluster-satellite deployment. Final assembly and checks are under way. A survey of 1,010 households found 76.3 percent expect the programme to succeed.
