Nevada approves Tesla Las Vegas robotaxis but limits fleet to 10
Nevada has approved Tesla to operate robotaxis in Las Vegas but limited the fleet to 10 vehicles. Tesla had sought permission to run up to 5,000 vehicles across Clark County. The approval restricts operation to a regulator-approved geofenced area on the Las Vegas Strip, caps speed at 45 miles per hour and bars passenger pickups at Harry Reid International Airport. Any increase above 10 vehicles requires additional approval.

Surge in self-driving taxis in city centres raises unexpected incident issues
As self-driving robotaxis are deployed more widely in real-world operations, cases are increasing in which the vehicles cause problems in unexpected situations. A growing number of so-called edge cases can disrupt traffic flow and sometimes create scenes that may threaten safety. Waymo has expanded its fleet and converted services in several U.S. cities to fully autonomous driving, but it has also carried out multiple federal recalls since December.

Lack of highway signs for chargers seen adding to EV range anxiety in the United States
U.S. electric-vehicle drivers’ range anxiety may not be eased by adding chargers alone, a report said, arguing that poor visibility of charging stations on highways can make infrastructure feel scarce. Donald Trump called range anxiety a kind of “disease” at a Las Vegas rally and noted the lack of signs for chargers. The report said frequent fuel-station signage builds confidence for gasoline drivers, while EV drivers often lack similar cues.
