FortyTwoMaru files Korea, U.S. patent applications for LLM-based enterprise data visualisation

Generative AI startup FortyTwoMaru said on Sept. 21 it filed patent applications in South Korea and the United States for a method and system that generate data representations based on large language models. It said the technology analyses unstructured corporate documents and produces answers in tables or charts. The company said it is designed to verify figures against corporate data and combine calculation and inference to provide visualised results.

China AI startup Naive AI bets on mid and post-training to compete in LLMs

Chinese AI model startup Naive AI, founded in February by a Tsinghua University professor, has been valued at more than $1.4 billion and raised $400 million from Tencent and others in three funding rounds, The Information reported. Based in Beijing, it plans to release its first large language model this month as an open-weight model. The company is led by professor Dai Zhipeng and is focusing on improving model performance through mid-training and post-training techniques.

Typesafe AI\'s Jev probability model draws developers\' attention

Typesafe AI, founded by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida (디오고 알메이다), has unveiled Jev, a new AI model that outputs probability values rather than generating sentences, TechCrunch reported on Sept. 18. The company says the model avoids hallucinations because users predefine outputs, and it highlights cost and speed advantages. Demand has been positive, and surging usage briefly strained its API service, it said.
