LG Uplus to develop AI token optimisation, quadrupling GPU efficiency

LG Uplus will develop token optimisation technology needed to operate AI services with AI model optimisation specialist OptAIi. The company said on Thursday it will jointly research technology that improves computing efficiency so more requests can be processed with the same resources. The partners said they improved response-generation computation to raise the amount of tokens processed on the same GPU by up to four times in a service environment.

MSIT launches \'Everyone\'s AI Lab\' picks 12 teams to start service development

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency selected 12 teams to advance to the finals of the \'Everyone\'s AI Lab AI service competition\' and held a launch event in Seoul. The contest is part of the \'Everyone\'s AI Growth Ladder Project\' launched in August. A total of 390 proposals were submitted, narrowed to 50 and then 12 through regional presentations. Finalists receive mentoring and resources, with winners chosen in December.

LG Uplus aims to use AI to eliminate call wait times by 2030 in AICC push

LG Uplus is seeking to build an AI-native contact center by 2030 with the goal of eliminating customer wait times. At its customer centers, AI provides real-time product information, policy guidance and answer prompts to agents, cutting average consultation time by 16 percent versus 2024 and reducing average agent-connection wait time from 47 seconds to 5 seconds. The company plans to validate technology internally before selling its insourcing AICC as a B2B solution.
