KB Kookmin Bank partners with Naver Pay, KIS and EZShop to support small merchants

KB Kookmin Bank is partnering with Naver Pay, Korea Information & Communications and EZShop to expand support for small merchants\' digital transformation and financial services. The companies signed a business agreement at the KB Kookmin Bank building in Yeouido, Seoul. The partnership centres on linking payments, business management and banking services through the offline integrated terminal, Npay Connect, and developing tailored financial services using payment and business data.

Broadcasting Media Telecommunications Commission launches campaign to spot generative AI misinformation, targeting MZ and youth

South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Telecommunications Commission will launch a public campaign to raise awareness of misinformation distribution and criminal misuse using generative AI. The campaign will run in October and November on its official social media channels, including Instagram and YouTube, targeting MZ-generation users and teenagers. It will feature quizzes comparing real and manipulated content, a user participation challenge, checklists for spotting false information and guidance on reporting risks.

MSIT to draw up blueprint for national AI safety ecosystem, master plan due in December

South Korea will prepare a national AI safety policy, using a public-private working group involving industry and experts to detail a management system for responding to AI risks and measures to strengthen safety capabilities. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it will form the working group for a national AI safety ecosystem master plan and begin full operations in October. It plans to finalise the master plan by December after reviewing proposals and consulting relevant ministries.
