South Korean team wins medals for all 4 students at International Earth Science Olympiad
All 4 students on South Korea\'s team at the 19th International Earth Science Olympiad in Turin, Italy won medals, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity said on Aug. 28. Na Hyo-chan won gold and Seo Ha-jin won silver in the individual written test, while Gong Yun-woo and Park Jae-sung took bronze. Korean students also won medals in team outdoor inquiry and Earth system project events.

Broadcast media commission holds emergency broadcast production drill with 8 agencies
South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communication Commission said on Aug. 20 it conducted an emergency broadcast production and transmission drill in Gwangju as part of the 2026 Ulchi exercise. The drill assumed broadcasting facilities were destroyed by an enemy attack and tested procedures to use the Gwangju Citizen Media Center as an alternative production base. Eight agencies, including KBS, local government, police, fire services and the army, took part.

South Korea wins medals for all team members at International Olympiad in Informatics
South Korea’s team won medals for all members at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from Aug. 9 to 16, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity said on Tuesday. The four-member team won 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze. The contest drew 375 students from 92 countries.
