Marine battery data hub buildout accelerates, push to meet international standards
South Korea is moving to build a national data infrastructure for marine batteries, aiming to strengthen competitiveness and respond to international standards. Korea Electronics Technology Institute said it held a kickoff meeting for a project to develop a marine battery data hub platform. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries is 추진ing the project, supported by the Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion. The five-year programme runs from 2026 to 2030 with 25 billion won in funding, backed by South Jeolla Province and Yeosu City.

IMI moves to protect customer service agents with AI real-time emotional risk detection
IMI, operator of the game item trading platform ItemMania, is moving to strengthen protections for emotional labour workers through a pilot of an AI-based counselling support system. The company said it completed technology verification after joining an EICN-led project to develop and test an AI counselling assist system that supports early response and decision-making on emotional risks. The system analyses text and voice to detect risky situations and provide alerts and response guidance.
