AI technology company CrowdWorks said on March 17 that its chief technology officer, Yang Su-yeol (양수열), has been appointed as an industry expert committee member for the Manufacturing AI Solution Development Support Center.

The Manufacturing AI Solution Development Support Center is a platform that helps South Korean manufacturers transition to AI factories with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Industrial Innovation Infrastructure Building project. The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) is the lead organisation, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) participates as a joint research organisation.

Yang will diagnose technical problems in manufacturers’ transition to AI factories and advise on solution adoption strategies. He will present AI adoption strategies tailored to business objectives, including anomaly detection, quality inspection and process optimisation across quality, equipment, processes and operations.

"For manufacturers to adopt AI, it is important to have a strategy to select and use high-quality data that reflects process-specific characteristics," Yang said. "I will contribute to strengthening the AI competitiveness of South Korea’s manufacturing industry," he added.
