The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said on Wednesday it held an event to share results from the 'R&D project to develop an operating framework for an integrated physical security platform for non-face-to-face services' that it has pursued since 2022 for about four years.

The event disclosed key outcomes from the past four years of R&D, including development of performance verification technology for physical security products and the integrated platform, development of interconnection technology for physical security systems, and tailored demonstration of the integrated platform.

The project involved 7 organisations led by KISA, including the Korea Electronics Technology Institute and physical security companies Danusys, Suprema, EdgeDX, Union Biometrics and Innodep.

KISA plans to continue expanding related projects and support so that integrated physical security platform technology can take root and spread as a smart safety solution.

Oh Jin-young, head of KISA's Information Security Industry Division, said the integrated physical security platform technology developed through the project is a core technology that helps prevent safety accidents and enables rapid response across various fields, including daily life and industrial sites. He said KISA will continue to strengthen support for the industry, along with operating a performance verification system, so that the technology can spread as a smart safety solution.
