Kakao holds AI competition for students; 3,000 join preliminaries
Kakao Group said it held the student artificial intelligence competition \"AI TOP 100 (CAMPUS)\" on April 4 at the Kakao AI Campus in Gyeonggi province. The event, a spinoff of last November’s \"AI TOP 100\" for all age groups, drew about 3,000 students in an online preliminary round on March 14. The top prize went to Soongsil University freshman Lee Jung-hoon.

Kakao Games holds meeting after change in largest shareholder; Han Sang-woo says current setup stays, new titles top priority
Kakao Games held its regular shareholders meeting shortly after disclosing a change in its largest shareholder to LAAA Investment under LY Corp (Line Yahoo). Shareholders approved all agenda items as proposed, including reappointing CEO Han Sang-woo, and cut the directors’ pay cap. Han said details on cooperation with LY would be discussed further and stressed that this year’s priority was launching new titles without major organisational changes.

Kakao wraps up first cohort of AI Rookie Camp to foster future talent
Kakao has completed an artificial intelligence education program for youths outside the capital area. The company said it held a graduation ceremony on Feb. 12 at its Kakao AI Campus in Yongin, south of Seoul, for the first cohort of its Kakao AI Rookie Camp. The camp trained 100 middle school students in two residential sessions from Feb. 4 to 12, covering theory, practice, project work and career planning. CEO Chung Shin-a attended and presented awards to the top three teams.
