Industrial AI startup Prometheus raises $12 billion at $41 billion valuation

Industrial AI startup Prometheus, led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former Google executive Vik Bajaj, raised $12 billion in a Series B round at a $41 billion valuation, Axios reported. The company plans to use the funds to redesign how physical products are manufactured, from jet engines to medical devices and consumer electronics. Bezos said the company is building tools to sharply shorten engineering cycles. Prometheus focuses on AI-optimised pre-production processes.

Orbital targets 2028 first launch for space AI data centre vision

Orbital, a startup aiming to build artificial intelligence data centres in space, has raised $5 million in seed funding. The company plans to run AI inference in orbit to avoid power and siting constraints on Earth and reduce regulatory and permitting burdens. New York City launches COGE efficiency body, distinguishing it from Trump-Musk-style DOGE

New York City has formally launched the Commission on Government Efficiency, or COGE, to revamp housing permitting, procurement and public service systems. Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the effort differs from the federal DOGE model that stalled last year. The 15-member panel plans 10 public hearings across the city’s five boroughs before drafting charter amendments for a November 2026 referendum. Patrick Gaspard will chair the commission.
