KCCM initiates review of SK Broadband change approval for corporate split

The Korea Communications and Media Commission (KCCM) is starting a review of a change approval request related to SK Broadband\'s corporate split. SK Telecom plans to split SK Broadband into a surviving entity for wired telecoms and media and a new entity, SK Horizon, for AI data centres and submarine cable business. KCCM also received a plan to pursue administrative sanctions against YTN and Yonhap News TV, and approved a 30 million won penalty for IHQ.

GM aims to cut vehicle development time to 2 years, unveils central computer and AI strategy

General Motors plans to use artificial intelligence to cut vehicle development time from 4 to 5 years to 2 years and overhaul batteries, vehicle electronics and autonomous driving technology. At a New York event, it unveiled an EV, AI and self-driving strategy aimed at responding to competition from Chinese automakers. GM plans to adopt a central computing software platform, introduce LMR batteries, and roll out a centralized vehicle computing unit starting in 2028.

NASA to resume Venus exploration in 2030s, moves up DAVINCI and restarts VERITAS

Two next-generation NASA Venus missions are regaining momentum as launch schedules are moved up or confirmed, after facing possible cancellation and delays due to budget issues. The DAVINCI atmospheric probe mission is targeting a December 2030 launch, a year earlier than planned, while the VERITAS orbiter has secured funding for a November 2032 launch. Europe and a private company are also preparing Venus missions in the early 2030s.
