KB Kookmin Bank\'s KB Kookmin Certificate users top 18 million
KB Kookmin Bank said cumulative users of its private authentication certificate, KB Kookmin Certificate, have surpassed 18 million. The bank said the user base has expanded since the certificate was recognised as an electronic signature certification service provider in 2021. Users rose by 1 million in a year, after topping 17 million in August last year. The certificate can be issued without visiting a branch and is used for authentication, e-signatures and identity verification.

PIPC will not impose blanket block on scraping, easing fintech concerns
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission expanded pre-consultation support on public data scraping to include smaller firms and companies without mydata qualifications, as the right to request personal data transfers nears rollout. The commission said scraping would not be blocked across the board from Aug. 20, and existing services can continue while public agencies and businesses move in stages to safer transfer methods.

Korea Credit Information to supply small merchant sales, purchase data to Shinhan Bank
Korea Credit Information, a credit rating firm for sole proprietors, will supply Shinhan Bank with data that can track sales and purchase flows for small merchants. The company said the dataset is based on the National Tax Service\'s Hometax and is designed to analyse both sales and purchases to identify actual business cash flow. Shinhan Bank plans to review ways to use the data, the company said.
