Hana Financial Q1 net profit up 7.3 percent to 1.21 trillion won

Hana Financial Group said first-quarter net profit rose 7.3 percent from a year earlier to 1.21 trillion won. It said results exceeded market expectations despite one-off costs including 82.3 billion won in foreign-exchange translation losses, citing a more diversified earnings portfolio, asset growth, cost efficiency and risk management. Core earnings rose 13.6 percent and net interest margin was 1.82 percent. The board approved a 200 billion won share buyback and cancellation and a quarterly cash dividend of 1,145 won per share.

Hana Financial expands Hana Money platform to broaden everyday finance services

Hana Financial Group said three companies, including Hana Insurance, Finc and GLN International, have newly joined its flagship everyday finance platform Hana Money. With the additions, the app expands beyond point accumulation and Travelog free currency exchange to offer services such as currency exchange, payments, investment, insurance and asset management. The group expects stronger service links and synergy as participating affiliates rise to nine.

Hana Financial to expand reverse mortgage service for homes valued above 1.2 billion won

Hana Financial Group said it will expand and overhaul the service scope of its reverse mortgage product, Hana The Next My Home Pension, from April 1 for customers aged 55 and older who own homes valued above 1.2 billion won. The group will broaden eligibility to include certain redevelopment and reconstruction properties by applying mortgage liens for a set period. It also added five pension payout limit options, from 500 million won to 1.5 billion won.
