HanaThe Next Lifecare said on March 29 it held a groundbreaking ceremony on March 27 at a site in Jichuk-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, to build an elderly care facility.

Attendees included Lee Seung-yeol (이승열), vice chairman of Hana Financial Group, Lee Ho-seong (이호성), head of Hana Bank, Namgung Won (남궁원), CEO of Hana Life Insurance, and Hwang Hyo-gu (황효구), CEO of HanaThe Next Lifecare, along with group officials. Kim Jun (김준), executive director of the Korea Life Insurance Association, and Hwang Jae-ho (황재호), vice director of pastoral ministry at Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital, also attended.

HanaThe Next Lifecare is a unit of Hana Life Insurance. It was established in June last year to provide senior care services including elderly care facilities, senior welfare housing and day-and-night care services.

The facility will provide combined housing and care services for older people who have difficulty with daily life. It plans to run tailored care programmes that take into account physical function and cognitive ability.

The facility is set to introduce IoT-based health monitoring, dementia support programmes, and hospital and daily companion services.

It will be located near Jichuk Station on Seoul subway Line 3. Bukhansan and Changneungcheon are nearby, offering access to the city and a natural environment.

The facility will have 2 basement floors and 7 above-ground floors and have capacity for 150 people. The site area is 1,695.1 square metres and gross floor area is 8,476.2 square metres, and it aims to open in September 2027.

Hwang said, "As we enter a super-aged society, the importance of senior care is growing." He added, "We will continue to expand care services so that elderly people can live in a stable environment."
