Park In-gyu holds town hall meeting on key R&D policies
Park In-gyu (박인규), head of the Ministry of Science and ICT\'s Office of Science and Technology Innovation, attended a town hall meeting at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology on May 8 to share the government\'s science and technology policy direction. The event was the fourth and final stop in a series of regional meetings. About 100 participants, including academics, students, researchers and industry, discussed institutional improvements and policy needs.

Kakao Group to set up \'Kakao AI Sail\' with four science and technology institutes, using 50 billion won fund
Kakao Group will set up a new body, dubbed \'Kakao AI Sail\', with four national science and technology institutes to foster regional artificial intelligence talent and companies. The group signed an MOU in Daejeon on Monday with KAIST, GIST, DGIST and UNIST in the presence of Science and ICT Minister Bae Kyung-hoon. The initiative will use a 50 billion won AI development fund announced in September and aims to build AI ecosystems outside the Seoul area and promote industrialisation.

NC AI launches K-Physical AI Alliance with 53 members including Samsung SDS
NC AI, a company specialising in industry-focused artificial intelligence, has formed a large alliance to strengthen South Korea\'s physical AI capabilities. The company on Feb. 11 unveiled the K-Physical AI Alliance consortium as it joins an IITP-led technology development project for training physical AI models. The consortium comprises 53 organisations, including 15 joint research bodies and 38 demand-side members such as Samsung SDS, Lotte Innovate, Posco DX and Hanwha Ocean.
