K20 to produce FAST original \'Shine on in Seoul\'
K20, a global free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel operator, said on May 11 it will produce the K-fashion and beauty reality programme \'Shine on in Seoul\'. The show follows foreign participants living in South Korea as they experience K-fashion and beauty. It is being filmed at locations including Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza and is being made for global airing in July.

Substack launches TV app, expands beyond newsletters into video platform
Substack has launched apps for Apple TV and Google TV as it strengthens support for video and livestreams, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 22. The TV app allows viewers to watch video content made by Substack creators and includes a TikTok-style recommended videos feature. Substack said it plans to add audio posts, search and paid subscription upgrade functions. User reactions to the shift toward video were mixed.

Google Gemini comes to TV with voice-led content discovery
Google unveiled Gemini AI features for TVs at CES 2026, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 5. The update lets users search for content using voice and use AI to restructure photos and videos. Gemini will first be applied to TCL TVs and later expand to other Google TV devices. It also enables natural-language conversation for recommendations, plot summaries and actor-name searches, plus interactive learning content on-screen. Voice commands can adjust TV settings.
