Global free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel operator K20 said on May 11 it will produce the K-fashion and beauty reality programme "Shine on in Seoul".

"Shine on in Seoul" is reality content that follows foreign participants living in South Korea as they experience K-fashion and beauty and go through changes. It is being produced with filming locations including Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza, targeting global airing in July.

The programme will be distributed globally through 2 FAST channels. K20’s K-fashion and beauty channel Trend On will be carried on 2 platforms including LG Channels and Xiaomi TV Plus. CJ ENM’s FAST channel K-Stories will be distributed to the North American market through platforms including Samsung TV Plus, Roku, Google TV, Amazon, Tubi and Apple TV.

A key feature is that it will be distributed directly to the global market through FAST channels, rather than supplying content to online video services. The programme will also apply a media-commerce combined model that features K-fashion designer brands and beauty brands, and links purchase pages via QR codes.

The MCs are Wendy, Moon Chanel and Seulgi Shin (신슬기). Participants include stylist Woo-sik Shin (신우식), makeup artists Mujin (무진) and Mi-jeong Gu (구미정), and dermatologist Young-han Seo (서영한).

A K20 official said, "FAST is not simply a channel but a global distribution infrastructure," adding, "We will build a structure that spreads not only brands and consumption through content but also the city image."
