Anthropic switches from Git to in-house version control system Scion in five months
Anthropic said it developed an in-house version control system called Scion and completed a switch from Git in five months. The company said source management became a major bottleneck as Claude generated more code, with daily merged changes rising from about 2,500 in May to more than 30,000 in September. Anthropic said Scion reduced infrastructure requirements and shortened checkout times, but it cannot replace Git for general use.

ElevenLabs appoints former OpenAI executive Ashley Kramer as CRO
AI audio company ElevenLabs said on Tuesday it has appointed Ashley Kramer (애슐리 크레이머), a former OpenAI executive, as chief revenue officer. Kramer led enterprise sales at OpenAI, handling AI adoption and sales for Fortune 100 companies. She previously held leadership roles in sales, marketing and product and technology at GitLab, Alteryx and Tableau. ElevenLabs said its annual recurring revenue this year doubled from a year earlier to $600 million, with enterprise customers accounting for about 55 percent of revenue.

Cursor unveils Origin code hosting platform, challenging GitHub
AI coding tool Cursor has launched its own source code hosting platform, Origin, to expand its AI development environment, Techzine reported on Aug. 18. Origin rebuilds repository, pull request and code search and browsing features around AI agents. It is available as an early beta for paid subscribers. Users can create repositories, clone code via command line and upload to Origin. It also supports GitHub integration and can be disconnected at any time.
