Amazon Web Services (AWS) said on June 18 it added release management features to its DevOps agent.

The move reflects a situation in which review, testing and deployment have emerged as new bottlenecks as AI-assisted coding spreads.

The release management capabilities, currently offered as a preview, consist of 2 features. The release readiness feature automatically checks code changes against internal organisational standards. It runs them in an AWS-managed isolated environment to confirm the software builds and operates normally. Results can be viewed directly in developer tools via GitHub and GitLab pull request comments, Q or the Claude Code plug-in.

The autonomous release testing feature automatically creates and runs a test plan for each change in an environment similar to the customer's configured production environment before code is merged. It verifies functional accuracy, regression behaviour and integration scenarios for web and API-based applications.
