GRAC urges caution over foreign game \'Swordsman from Hell\' over loot box disclosure breach

South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee issued a user alert over an overseas game title, \'Swordsman from Hell\', for violating mandatory disclosure rules on probability-based items. The regulator said it confirmed through monitoring that the game failed to meet disclosure obligations and is proceeding with administrative sanctions with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It said it may restrict domestic distribution if corrective orders are not followed.

Korea culture ministry, game board to crack down on unregistered \'gametel\' operations in lodging rooms

South Korea\'s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Game Rating and Administration Committee have begun full-scale administrative guidance to stamp out illegal, unregistered internet PC game facility operations in lodging rooms. The two bodies said they strengthened joint preventive activities as so-called \"gametel\" businesses spread at some motels and other lodging facilities. They plan to deepen cooperation with local governments and launch joint crackdowns with related agencies against clear violations after an advance guidance period.

GRAC appoints 10-member committee for random item redress, to link with content dispute system in H2

The Game Rating and Administration Committee, under South Korea\'s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said it appointed 10 members to a subcommittee on redress for damage linked to random items. Members include user groups, business groups and legal and institutional experts, with one-year terms renewable. The committee will deliberate on case reviews and reinvestigation decisions. GRAC plans to link its redress centre system with the Content Dispute Mediation Committee in the second half.
