Korea Microsoft to hold Industry Summit on Sept. 30

Korea Microsoft will hold the Microsoft Industry Summit on Sept. 30 at the COEX Grand Ballroom in Seoul to share industry-specific AI transformation strategies and on-the-ground cases. The company will present AI use cases and Frontier Transformation 방향 across finance, retail, manufacturing, healthcare and education. It will also run technology sessions featuring customer cases using Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Foundry and Azure. Korean firms including SC First Bank, Shinhan units and KB Kookmin Bank will present.

Samsung Electronics partners with France\'s Mistral AI to build semiconductor-focused AI

Samsung Electronics said on Sept. 9 it signed a strategic partnership with French artificial intelligence company Mistral AI to jointly develop an in-house AI model specialised in semiconductor design and manufacturing. The model will combine semiconductor technology and manufacturing data accumulated by Samsung’s DS division with Mistral AI’s high-efficiency model technology. The model will be deployed step by step for data analysis, defect prediction and process optimisation, and will run on Samsung’s on-premise infrastructure.

Samsung Electronics to adopt ASML high-NA EUV for DRAM in 2028

Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it has joined ASML\'s large mask consortium to co-develop next-generation 12-inch photomasks and plans to introduce high-NA EUV tools into advanced DRAM manufacturing by 2028. The shift from 6-inch to 12-inch masks alongside high-NA EUV is aimed at easing stitching constraints, boosting fab productivity and lowering chip manufacturing costs. Samsung and ASML also plan to strengthen cooperation and seek further collaboration opportunities.
