Zeiss overhauls SAP cloud ERP migration plan, shifts from greenfield to brownfield

Germany\'s optics company Zeiss Group has revised its plan to shift to SAP\'s cloud ERP software after costs rose, Bloomberg News reported. Zeiss decided to use a brownfield approach that moves existing software systems to the cloud, after a greenfield plan to build a new cloud-based system proved more complex than expected. A Zeiss spokesperson said the company regularly reviews large projects and adjusted the ERP migration to speed the transition and better meet business unit needs.

ElevenLabs appoints former OpenAI executive Ashley Kramer as CRO

AI audio company ElevenLabs said on Tuesday it has appointed Ashley Kramer (애슐리 크레이머), a former OpenAI executive, as chief revenue officer. Kramer led enterprise sales at OpenAI, handling AI adoption and sales for Fortune 100 companies. She previously held leadership roles in sales, marketing and product and technology at GitLab, Alteryx and Tableau. ElevenLabs said its annual recurring revenue this year doubled from a year earlier to $600 million, with enterprise customers accounting for about 55 percent of revenue.

Berkshire CEO steps up $10 billion bet on Alphabet with two-track investment in AI and power infrastructure

Berkshire Hathaway is expanding its investment in Alphabet, betting on growth in the artificial intelligence industry while also seeking gains from rising power demand from data centres. Greg Abel, Berkshire\'s CEO, said the company sees Alphabet as a key AI player and also expects indirect benefits as Berkshire Hathaway Energy supplies electricity to data centres. Berkshire approved an additional $10 billion Alphabet purchase and plans large energy infrastructure spending through 2026.
