Mythos returns as agentic AI drives security operations center expansion

Fortinet launches integrated SOC platform FortiSOC, deploys agentic AI

Fortinet said on Tuesday it has launched FortiSOC, an integrated cloud-based security operations centre platform. The company said FortiSOC consolidates key security operations functions into a single software-as-a-service platform and embeds agentic AI to autonomously investigate and correlate alerts across assets and identities. It provides SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, case management, threat intelligence and ITDR in one platform, supporting steps from alert intake to investigation and response.

AI-focused M&A gains pace as big cloud firms step up security expansion

M&A activity is picking up as the security industry reshapes around AI. Databricks is acquiring AI-based cyberattack detection startup Panther Labs, its third cybersecurity deal this year after Antimatter and SiftD. Identity security firm SailPoint Technologies is buying AI agent security startup Entro Security. Big cloud providers are also moving faster on security, with AWS launching an AI platform and Google Cloud supporting local data residency in its Seoul region.
