U.S. cybersecurity stocks extend declines for a second straight day after Anthropic introduced Claude Code Security, an AI-based security tool. CNBC reported on Feb. 23 that shares of major cybersecurity companies including CrowdStrike, Zscaler and Netskope plunged after Anthropic announced the new technology.

CrowdStrike and Zscaler each fell 9 percent, while Netskope slid nearly 10 percent. SailPoint dropped 6 percent, while Okta, SentinelOne and Fortinet fell more than 4 percent, and Palo Alto Networks ended down 2 percent. Cloudflare had risen recently on expectations around Moltbot but fell 7 percent on Feb. 23. The iShares Cybersecurity & Tech ETF fell nearly 4 percent.

In response, CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz (조지 커츠) said, "We welcome AI innovation, but code-scanning AI cannot replace existing security platforms." He said security needs an independent and validated platform, stressing the importance of existing security systems.
