Ethereum delays Hoodi testnet launch of \'Glamsterdam\' upgrade over security risks

Ethereum developers have delayed applying the Glamsterdam hard fork to the Hoodi testnet after concerns that some proposals could affect how existing smart contracts handle failed transactions. The Ethereum Foundation said it needs more time to check how the proposals interact with already deployed contracts, leaving the mainnet timeline uncertain. ChainSecurity warned that EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 could weaken defenses against insufficient gas griefing attacks.

Segway launches $1,999 Cyber Air electric bike with angular body and X-shaped lighting

Segway has launched its moped-style electric bicycle, the Cyber Air, priced at $1,999, aiming at the mass market. It keeps the aggressive look of the earlier Cyber model but adjusts weight and riding specifications to meet U.S. Class 1, 2 and 3 e-bike categories. The bike uses a 750W rear hub motor and a 717Wh battery with a claimed 58-mile range. It adds connected features, though some require a subscription after a year.

Cardano faces downward pressure after U.S. inflation shock; long liquidation imbalance hits 5,747 percent

Cardano (ADA) extended losses as long-position liquidations far outpaced shorts. Total liquidations reached $4.27 million, including $4.2 million in longs versus $73,080 in shorts, widening the imbalance to 5,747 percent. ADA fell 1.33 percent over 24 hours to $0.224 and briefly touched $0.216. Markets were shaken by U.S. CPI data, fuelling rate-hike concerns and wider crypto futures liquidations.
