[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] SixThreeZero has unveiled a large electric three-wheeled bicycle that can carry up to 7 people by connecting a passenger trailer. It carries a much larger battery than a typical e-bike and uses a multi-passenger design, targeting passenger transport and cargo hauling beyond personal mobility.
Electrek, an electric-vehicle outlet, reported on Oct. 7 that SixThreeZero's new Long Range Luxury Rickshaw can carry 3 people in the base configuration: 1 rider and 2 passengers. With an optional rear subframe attached, capacity can be expanded to as many as 7 people.
The most notable specification is battery capacity. The model is equipped with a high-capacity battery totaling 7,296Wh. That is about 10 times the 500Wh to 750Wh level common for commuter e-bikes.
The frame holds two 48V 20Ah batteries, and an additional 48V 112Ah battery is placed under the rear seat. SixThreeZero said it can travel up to 120 miles, about 193 km, on a single charge. Actual range may vary depending on speed, terrain, pedal-assist level and the number of riders.
In the expanded configuration that carries up to 7 people, passenger and cargo weight increase significantly, raising the possibility that real-world range will be shorter than the stated maximum.
The drivetrain uses two 750-watt motors. Riders can choose between single-motor and dual-motor modes, and the dual-motor setting delivers a total rated output of 1,500 watts. It is designed to provide additional driving force when climbing hills or traveling with many passengers. Top speed is listed as 32 km per hour for both pedal-assist and throttle operation.
The base model costs $7,495, about 10.02 million won. A subframe that can add rear passenger seating or a cargo basket is priced at $999, about 1.33 million won, per unit. Up to two subframes can be connected, allowing up to 7 people to ride in the disclosed configuration.
A powered version of the extension unit is also available, equipped with its own motor and battery. In that case, the main vehicle's controls can operate the connected auxiliary unit together. Electrek assessed this setup as closer to an electric road train built from bicycle components.
Braking and convenience features have also been strengthened to match the large body. Hydraulic disc brakes are fitted to all three wheels, along with a torque sensor, 20x4-inch fat tires, a suspension fork and ergonomic handlebars.
The headlight supports high and low beams. Turn signals, mirrors, a brake light, a rear differential and a front cargo basket are also provided as standard.
The seating also differs from typical e-bikes. The driver's seat is designed as a captain's chair, and Electrek said the ride comfort of the seat is better than that of a typical car seat.
SixThreeZero's new rickshaw is seen as a product that expands the boundary between e-bikes and electric tricycles. That is because it combines a high-capacity battery and a multi-passenger expansion structure, and is designed for uses such as family transport, passenger carrying and cargo loading beyond simple personal mobility.
Actual practicality is expected to depend on factors such as length and weight under expanded setups, changes in range depending on the number of riders and cargo load, and handling on narrow roads. Electrek noted past experience carrying more than 6 people on SixThreeZero rickshaw products and focused on its completeness as a multi-passenger transport platform.
