MODSIM and AI redefine engineering, speed revolution ahead

Dassault Systèmes\' SIMULIA CEO Michelle Ash (미쉘 애쉬) said MODSIM can cut a 40-hour design process to 4 hours, and adding AI could reduce it to seconds. Speaking at a Dassault Systèmes Korea event on June 11, she highlighted three changes: faster physics foundations through GPU-based solvers with Nvidia, MODSIM enabling simulation during design, and AI accelerating work further. Orbital targets 2028 first launch for space AI data centre vision

Orbital, a startup aiming to build artificial intelligence data centres in space, has raised $5 million in seed funding. The company plans to run AI inference in orbit to avoid power and siting constraints on Earth and reduce regulatory and permitting burdens. Founder Euwyn Poon says the business depends on lower launch costs, with SpaceX\'s Starship seen as key. Orbital targets a first data-processing spacecraft launch in 2028.

Helion raises $465 million, accelerates goal to supply fusion power to Microsoft by 2028

U.S. fusion startup Helion Energy raised $465 million in new funding, valuing the company at $15.5 billion. Helion said it will use the money to accelerate construction of its first commercial power plant, the Orion project planned in Washington state, and aims to supply fusion electricity to the grid as early as 2028. The company has a power supply contract with Microsoft for its data centres and says it plans to deliver by 2028.
