Galaxy Z8 preorders boom as Samsung extends activation period

Samsung Electronics\' new Galaxy Z8 foldable series set its highest-ever preorder record, prompting the company to extend the activation period for some preorder customers. Samsung said preorder demand for the Fold8 Ultra 1TB and the Fold8 exceeded prepared supply, so the activation window will run through the end of this month. Preorder customers activating by month-end will still receive the same double-storage benefit.

KT runs \'Minive X Mintraon\' pop-up store in Hongdae

KT said on Tuesday it is running a \'Minive X Mintraon Collaboration Edition\' pop-up store at KT Plaza\'s Hongdae Ad Shop Plus through Aug. 16. Minive is an official character inspired by the group IVE, while Mintraon is KT\'s in-house character. The store displays character figures and 3-in-1 fast charger goods and sells a travel package offline for the first time. KT is also holding visitor events and showcasing new Galaxy Z devices.

Galaxy Z8 sets record with 1.44 million preorders in South Korea

Samsung Electronics\' new foldable smartphone Galaxy Z8 series set a record for Galaxy smartphone preorders in South Korea. The company said the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 sold a total of 1.44 million units in domestic preorders over seven days from July 28 to Aug. 3. That surpassed the previous high of 1.38 million set by the Galaxy Note10 in 2019. Samsung said demand was driven by younger buyers, more women customers and preorder benefits.
