YouTube to raise bar for creator monetisation
YouTube will tighten the requirements for creators to monetise content from Feb. 1, 2027. Creators seeking to join the YouTube Partner Program will need 1,000 subscribers and 8,000 valid watch hours over the past year, or 20 million valid Shorts views in the past 90 days. The current threshold is 4,000 hours or 10 million Shorts views. Existing participants will face new conditions to maintain revenue.

OpenAI to supply ChatGPT Enterprise to all Samsung Electronics employees
OpenAI will supply ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to support work innovation and companywide AI transformation at Samsung Electronics, it said on Sunday. The rollout covers all Samsung employees in South Korea and all employees worldwide in its Device eXperience (DX) division. Samsung plans to use the tools across software development, marketing, product development and manufacturing. OpenAI said more than 5 million people use Codex weekly and its weekly active users in South Korea have surged since Feb. 1, 2026.

Crypto investment products see bigger net inflows, led by bitcoin rebound
Crypto funds recorded $1.2 billion in net inflows in the week ended April 24, extending inflows to four consecutive weeks. Total assets under management rose to $155.276 billion, the highest since Feb. 1, as bitcoin rebounded above $77,000 for the first time since a February correction. Bitcoin products took in $932.5 million, while Ethereum products saw $192.4 million. Inflows also expanded to Solana and XRP, while multi-asset products saw outflows.
