Naver executives bought 700 million won worth of the company’s shares, shoring up their commitment to responsible management.

Naver on Tuesday disclosed that six C-level executives, including Chief Executive Choi Soo-yeon (최수연), acquired a total of 700 million won worth of Naver shares through open-market purchases on Feb. 9.

Choi bought 786 shares worth about 200 million won. Five other executives also bought shares worth about 100 million won each, including Chief Data Officer Kim Kwang-hyun (김광현), Chief Operating Officer Kim Beom-jun (김범준), Chief Financial Officer Kim Hee-cheol (김희철), Chief Risk Officer Yoo Bong-seok (유봉석) and Chief Human Resources Officer Hwang Soon-bae (황순배).

Choi has continued to buy Naver shares since taking office. Including this purchase, the shares she has directly bought since taking office total about 700 million won. Including shares awarded as compensation, her total holdings are 11,874 shares.

The latest share purchases by Naver’s management are seen as a move to boost shareholder value and strengthen responsible management.

Naver previously announced a new three-year shareholder return policy in its fourth-quarter earnings release, including buybacks followed by cancellations and cash dividends. On Feb. 1, it revamped its C-level leadership structure and moved to find new business models while responding to changes in the global environment, including AI agents, physical AI and Web3.
