UpscaleAI raises $190 million to speed development of AI switch chip

Datacenter networking startup UpscaleAI has raised an additional $190 million in funding, SiliconANGLE reported on June 22. The round was led by Premji Invest, with participation from Nvidia, Salesforce Ventures, Seligman Ventures and Temasek. UpscaleAI is developing scale-up and scale-out switches optimized for AI workloads. It is focusing on its in-house Skyhammer chip to address delays caused by slow data exchanges between GPUs.

LG Electronics expands WashTower and WashCombo lineup

LG Electronics is stepping up its push into the combined washer-dryer market. The company said it will launch new LG Tromm AI Objet Collection WashTower and WashCombo models this month, with the largest capacity available in South Korea. The WashTower has 25 kg washing and 25 kg drying capacity, while the WashCombo offers 25 kg washing and 21 kg drying. The products add AI features and upgraded subscription and care services, with prices starting at 5.09 million won.

Cisco to buy identity security firm Widefield to bolster Splunk agentic SOC

Cisco will acquire identity lifecycle security company Widefield Security, SecurityWeek reported on June 19. The move is aimed at strengthening Splunk agentic SOC capabilities, and the purchase price was not disclosed. Widefield raised more than $11 million in a Series A round last year. The company provides technology to discover human and non-human identities, map exposure across accounts and roles, and assess weak points in account and privilege management.
