[Digital Today reporter Ho-jung Lee (이호정)] Kakao Makers is starting a design vote to produce a year-end "Chunsik donation badge."

Kakao said on Oct. 28 that Kakao Makers is running the donation badge project with the Community Chest of Korea and will accept design votes until Nov. 3.

This year’s badge is made with the concept of "Chunsik the messenger of love." The three candidates are Chunsik in a Christmas stocking, Chunsik inside a Christmas wreath and Chunsik wearing a Rudolph headband.

Users can vote for their preferred design on Kakao Makers. The design with the most votes will be produced and sold as the actual badge.

All sales proceeds will be donated to support elderly people living alone and single-parent households through the winter.

Support items will include same-day milled new rice from Kakao Makers’ private brand (PB) for fresh foods, "Makers Pick," as well as upcycled blankets, underwear and brushed fabric clothing.

Kakao Makers’ donation badge project started in 2021 and marks its sixth year this year. A total of 587,994 people took part in the design vote over the past five years.

It is also running an event for vote participants. Those who tag the official Kakao Makers account on their personal Instagram stories and upload a screenshot after voting will enter a draw, with prizes provided to 100 people.

A Kakao Makers official said, "This year we expanded the supported items to include food and winter household goods," and added, "We will continue year-end sharing activities through the donation badge project."
