Critics warn companies may be substituting compute for cash and could demand higher output. Concerns also include how token costs affect staffing decisions and whether tokens lack vesting and long-term value.

SK Telecom said on March 19 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Ericsson to strengthen cooperation on AI-based network technologies from 5G to 6G. The companies plan to build a cooperation framework for the continued evolution of network technology, pursue practical application of innovation technologies in 5G environments, and lay the groundwork for long-term 6G research and standardisation. Cooperation includes AI-RAN, 5G upgrades, open and autonomous networks, security, and 6G-related future technologies.
