Financial investment industry joins energy-saving push with car use rotation and more remote work
South Korea\'s financial investment industry is stepping up energy-saving efforts in response to global energy supply-demand imbalances and rising prices. The Korea Financial Investment Association said securities firms, asset managers and other financial investment companies are participating. Measures include rotating car use, encouraging public transport, expanding remote work and flexible commuting systems. Companies are also cutting building power use by adjusting elevator and HVAC hours and switching off lights outside working hours.

Shinhan Financial Group strengthens energy-saving system for Earth Day
Shinhan Financial Group said on Tuesday it is promoting employee-participation energy-saving activities and a wildfire response programme to mark Earth Day. The group carried out everyday actions such as turning off lights in major buildings and encouraging greater use of public transport, with some employees commuting on foot or by public transport. It is also operating an energy-saving system that includes limits on vehicle use, reduced elevator operations and indoor temperature management.

Dunamu to roll out five-step plan to cut energy use, join government policy
Dunamu, which operates the digital asset exchange Upbit, said on April 10 it will implement a five-step plan to reduce energy use in line with the government’s energy-saving policy. The plan includes encouraging employees to join a national energy-saving campaign, operating a five-day vehicle rationing system with some exemptions, following government guidelines on heating and cooling, cutting standby power using power strips and limiting elevator operations outside peak times.
