NIA to open applications for second-half 2026 entry-level hiring from Sept 7
South Korea\'s National Information Society Agency (NIA) said on Aug. 31 it will conduct entry-level recruitment for the second half of 2026. It will select 20 new employees across regular and indefinite-term general positions. The hiring covers 19 roles in four areas and 1 role in personal information protection to strengthen the agency’s privacy capability. Applications will be accepted on the NIA recruitment website from Sept. 7 to 14.

South Korea, China resume ICT strategic dialogue after 8 years, discuss digital, spectrum cooperation
South Korea and China resumed government-to-government strategic dialogue in the ICT sector for the first time in eight years and discussed ways to expand cooperation in digital technology and radio spectrum. South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the fifth South Korea-China ICT cooperation strategic dialogue with China\'s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in Beijing on Aug. 24. The talks followed a digital technology cooperation memorandum of understanding agreed after a January summit.

Kakao expands AI training for NGO activists
Kakao said on Wednesday it is recruiting participants for its KakaoTech NGO AI Class to help improve artificial intelligence capabilities of activists at domestic non-profit groups. The programme expands an AI training project previously run for small business owners. Kakao plans to select 100 participants from 50 groups, with applications open through Aug. 9. Training will be held offline over two days at its Pangyo site, with introductory and advanced courses.
